The last couple of years have seen the beauty industry go crazy for contouring, everyone in desperate ‘need’ for those Kim K cheek bones.  Practically every makeup brand have released their own contour kit or products.

Contouring is definitely quite controversial, some love it and incorporate it into their everyday makeup routine whilst others despise it.

The crazy contouring tutorials that float about YouTube illustrate the lengths some girls are willing to go to basically transform their face.  Personally, I take these with a pinch of salt, it is fun to watch a makeup artist create different stripe marks all over someone’s face and blend them in to create shallows, chiselled cheekbones and a ‘slimmer face’.

However, I think its important realise the amount of time and energy not to mention money which is been spent on trying to nail the perfect contour.  Many of these faces on Instagram have been filtered from all angles as well as photo shopped therefore, it is important not to be of the allusion that contouring will ‘transform’ your face.

Yes its fun to experiment but important not to get too carried away.  If your wanting to have a go at contouring for the summer I’d recommend the Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit which is super affordable as well as the L’Oréal Cushion De Soleil Bronzer.

I like to use the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply bronzer before blending it with a Real Techniques Sponge.
