Hi Everyone! Can you believe that its officially the 10 day countdown till Christmas?! Todays post is about my weekend in Edinburgh at the Christmas market! In general I love Edinburgh, but the city is so magical at Christmas time that I make sure to visit every year. This year I went with my mum and we stayed the night in a cute little hotel and had afternoon tea and bubbly when we arrived.
If you’ve never been before, the Christmas market takes place right in the centre of Princes Street right across from Waverley Station. Its filled with endless stalls serving mulled wine, beers, hot chocolate, dutch pancakes, candy floss, cheese, the list goes on and on! The food is always amazing so I’d recommend to bring plenty of cash! As well as food, the stalls sell cute little ornaments and keepsakes which make for great Christmas presents.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t convince my mum to go on the swings or the big wheel but it would certainly make for a fab view of the city. We went for dinner to the rosehip restaurant which specialises in seafood. It had the best Christmassy ambience with fairy lights and candles on the table and the food was delicious. Mum and I both had the fish and chips and honestly the fish was so tasty! After indulging in more prosecco at the hotel and making full use of having a LUSH bath with hot water *seriously my bath at home always runs cold* we called it a day.
The next morning we went more Christmas shopping down the main street which is Princes Street before having a much needed Starbucks. The Starbucks we went to had a fab view of the Castle! It really was a great weekend away and I’d thoroughly recommend you visit the Edinburgh Christmas market as its here until January!
