Hi Everyone! Welcome to the second edition of #foodyfriday. Continuing with the Italian theme, todays post is all about Pizza. More specifically, discussing where you can get the best pizza in Glasgow.
Paesano opened in 2016 and last May, due to popular demand, a further branch opened in the west end of the city, at Kelvinbridge. If your from down south, think of Paesano as Scotland’s Franco Manco. The atmosphere in Paesano is laid back, minimalistic and rustic. Pizzas are reasonably priced starting from £6 for a plain Margarita. Instead of trying to remember the name of the exact pizza you want, to save you trying to rhyme off all of the ingredients, each pizza is simply labelled a number from 1-7. Its also worthwhile to check out the specials menu because it usually features one of pizzas that are only available for that day.

One thing about Paesano is that the service is always super speedy! The menu is strictly only pizza but you can order a side of mixed salad (£2.50) a mozzarella salad or a side of olives. The pizzas are baked in an authentic Neapolitan stone oven which gives it that Italian charcoaled rustic taste.

I usually opt for the 6th pizza on the menu which has a tomato base and is crammed with mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, spinach and red peppers. I always ask for my pizza to have chillies on it for an extra 50p as it gives it a kick. The pizzas are made to order and because they are cooked in the stone baked oven they only require a couple of minutes.
Paesano really do nail pizzas well and it makes for the perfect place to grab lunch or dinner with friends. They are so successful that they are launching a restaurant in Edinburgh!
