Study Tips for University!

Uni study
*Study Tips*

Hi Everyone! I was looking through some of my old Instagram’s and noticed that around this time last year I was starting to study for my final uni exams.  My Master’s course doesn’t have any exams, which I guess is lucky, but I still thought that I’d do a reflection post on some of the tips I’ve learnt after years of studying for exams and what’s worked best for me.

  1. Buy allll the cute stationary.  Over the years I’ve accumulated some gorg stationary from Paperchase *thanks, student loan* so I’d recommend looking there if you enjoy collecting pretty stationary.  However, other budget shops such as Poundland also do great stationary with a cheaper price tag attached.  I’d recommend picking up highlighters, a desk planner and an A3 notepad.
  2. I’ve always found writing down my to-do list at the beginning of the day to be really helpful to allow me to prioritise what needs to be done first and plan my time.  I’ve never personally been one for specifically giving each task an allocated time slot because I find this puts pressure on me so instead I write down 2-3 manageable tasks/ areas I want to study that day.
  3. Mindmaps. Mindmaps. Mindmaps, some people aren’t too partial to a mindmap but for me, this method of study has been really reliable and I think it’s a great way to learn if like me your a visual learner.  You write down the question you want to answer in the middle of the mindmap and you fill out the reminder of the page with notes.   Adding lots of colour and pinning it to your wall really helps make it visual and you remember the information.
  4. Relaxx.  The night before an exam is a horrible feeling but honestly, there’s no wisdom in staying up all night studying.  Packing your bag of all the essentials and just generally getting organised the night before and getting a good sleep does the world of good.
  5. If you tend to get anxious on the morning of exams, buy a Rescue Remedy.  You can get these sprays in most drugstores and they can help with nerves.  I’ve found that as long as I arrived in plenty of time once I found my seat all the nerves disappear and there’s nothing better than walking out the exam hall having done your best!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and found these tips useful! Feel free to leave me a comment below and be sure to follow if you’re not already doing so! I’m going to do a Giveaway once I reach 500 followers so be sure to follow!
