So last month I returned to the South of France for a few days of bliss and chill. After visiting the beautiful city of Carcassonne I convinced the fam to return with me. As you can see from the above image, at every available opportunity I made sure to dip my feet in the hotel pool and read my magazine and a few thriller novels *this is how I do chill*
After what felt like experiencing an eternal winter here in Scotland, I made sure to soak up every ray of available sunshine. The main attraction of Carcassonne is the Medieval Castle which I enjoyed wandering both during the day and in the evenings. As you can see from the picture below, this is the castle at night which really does look magical.
Scattered around the old town there are pretty colourful murals which have been painted back in the Medieval times. Although I had seen this one the last time I had visited the city, I made sure to stop for a photo with it. I love how vibrant the colours are and it really shows the castle in its true historical condition.
Although I still haven’t plucked up the confidence yet to try frogs legs or snails, I did make sure to eat as many delicious French carbs as I could. You can’t beat French bread and cheese! Something that always makes me feel in holiday mode is Fanta, or rather known in France as, Orangina. I also made sure to consume a few Nutella crepes during the few days of being away.
I hope that you enjoyed seeing what I got up to on my recent holiday. Next month I’m headed to London for a few days with a trip to Paris thrown in so I’ll be sure to do a travel diary documenting my time there!
