Hi Everyone! So we’ve reached the end of the first month of the year. Last year I didn’t really do many ‘favourite’ blog posts at the end of each month because I wasn’t really keeping a track of which products I was enjoying/using the most, but this month I have!
Most of these products you’ll more or less recognise from my ‘What I got for Christmas post’ which, if you’ve not already read, you can find here. One of my favs from the month that isn’t pictured above is the film ‘The Darkest Hour’ staring Gary Oldman as Churchill. As a budding historian, this film was clearly up my street! The film followed the decisions Churchill made in the lead in WW2 up to exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Hitler.
In terms of reading, I loved reading Shari Lapena’s ‘The Couple Next Door’ like I said in this post here the book is so exciting and really grips you because of all the plot twists. I’m currently just about to finish her second novel A Stranger in the House so I shall share y thoughts on that in due time!
Onto beauty and I’ve re-discovered a product that I used last May, the YSL Touche E’Clair primer. Instead of applying this onto my face after moisturising, I’ve been mixing it into my foundation which has really been helping to give my skin a glow. What I love about the primer is that it doesn’t feel greasy on the skin but still gives a dewy effect. I’ve also been wearing gold nail polish for most of January, specifically a one from M&S which was from a Christmas gift set from 2016 so I doubt that its still available to purchase!
I’ve been enjoying using my new Zoeva Cosmetics 107 Powder Polish brush for applying bronzer. I’ve been finding that this brush is really good for contouring as because it is quite a dense brush it works well when applying product to the hollows of the cheeks. Studio London is a brand that I haven’t been familiar with but having received the Studio London Eyebrow pen for Christmas I’ve found that its been really easy to fill in my brows and make them look super defined!
I hope that you liked reading this post! Feel free to leave me a comment below and follow the blog if your not already doing so!
